The winner of the night earns the opportunity to tell a story as a part of the Stories Worth Telling Festival in Golden in September. Come wow us with your words and wit on this incredible night of storytelling. Those interested in talking to the audience drop their names in a hat to signify they’re ready! Our host for the night is Nick Ross, a passionate storyteller with a dynamic background in theatre, film, and documentary. For the last 8 years, he has hosted “The Moth Storyslam” series in Denver. Nick Ross returns Nick P Ross is a Storyteller and Improvisational Comedian based in Denver, CO. He regularly hosts The Moth Storyslam series in Denver and performs improv with the Chaos Bloom Mainstage Players. His background is in improv and sketch comedy as a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. He has appeared in numerous terrible comedy movies that you haven't and shouldn't see. If you're interested in taking your storytelling further, or just enjoying a fun, story-filled evening, come join us for a live story slam on February 10 at 7 PM at the Historic Park Theatre. Storytellers will be selected by random drawing, in a process similar to The Moth's, and the winner will earn a prize. We all have stories to tell--stories that may be heartwarming, side-splitting, life-affirming, or all of the above. The Fine Arts Guild of the Rockies (FAGR) invites you to a workshop on "story slams," open-mic storytelling competitions in the vein of poetry slams. Participants will brainstorm on the topic, "Cravings," and then practice telling a story on that topic. They'll learn tips and tricks for making a story compelling, as well as strategies to help conquer stage fright. Come learn what a story slam is all about, and leave better prepared for telling your next great story, whether on stage or over coffee with a friend.
